The fudge was very tempting and I'm sure it's delicious, but I didn't have any. Great atmosphere, good service, no complaints. Check it out! ”

“ This restaurant is located in the parking lot of a shopping center with a shared parking lot, right off Highway 61. We arrived on a Tuesday night and it was moderately busy. There were signs up that service was slow, so they set the expectations up front. They say the decor is rustic and that's accurate. Corrugated metal in the walls, antlers, farm equipment, etc. The entire place smells heavily of grease, so everything will need to air out when you leave. It was honestly very overwhelming and made me question our choice. Had the food not been good, I would probably not come back for that reason. The food was delicious and large portions. Wraps, burgers, tenderloins, and steaks. They also offer Cheesecake Factory Cheesecakes, homemade pies / cakes / cobblers, as well as candy and fudge. ”

“ A sign at the front warns you that they are short-staffed, and the service was slow. But since I knew what to expect, that was no problem. In fact, when my kid dropped his burger on the floor after eating one bite, the waitress ordered another one up and got it back out to him very quickly (yes, I did say I would pay for a second). We liked the ambience, and something about the homey feeling gave me the impression that the dessert would be really good. We needed to get back on the road to Kansas City. I would come back here if I was anywhere near Hannibal just to get the buffalo chicken sandwich. My 8yo got it and barely finished it- I took a couple huge bites to help him out. The chicken was thick as heck and perfectly fried. The chicken was so tender that it was almost like fish. In fact, that's a good comparison - think of a big piece of fish from an amazing fish-and-chips and then picture almost a similar texture with chicken. Since I expected things to be slow, I ordered a bavarian pretzel as soon as we sat down. For our kid with an allergy, thankfully there was no egg. The two dips (nacho-cheese-looking queso and "beer" cheese) were not very good but the kids liked them. I got the rustic salad. I'm a big dude, and the lunch portion was plenty. The chicken was fried just about perfectly. I think croutons didn't make sense with the existing crisp of the fried chicken, and I eventually realized I could just skip eating them. Also, the "mixed greens" consisted mainly of mixing together heads of iceberg lettuce. I would have paid extra to avoid the iceberg; I wonder if that's something I could ask for as an extra charge without being a jerk. My daughter loves potatoes, so she ordered the amardillo tails appetizer; dang, that is a full-on adult meal. It's at least two large potatoes cut into wedges, deep-fried, lined up and covered in barbecue sauce with some pulled pork on top. She wisely ordered the queso on the side - the queso went well with the wedges, but it didn't need to be drenching everything. My wife got the chicken salad on a croissant; the croissant was uninspired - I think it must have been frozen and microwaved. But still not a bad sandwich. ”

“ Very good tenderloin. The sweet potato fries were excellent as well. We split the huge sandwich and a Rustic salad. They were shortstaffed and busy, but service was pretty quick. Our server was very friendly and helpful. The decor is fun, like a camping cabin. We'll return and try something else. ”
